AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Science)
AIIMS is a national level undergraduate medical entrance exam conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (New Delhi) for admission to MBBS programmes.
An Act of Parliament in 1956 established the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) refered as an autonomous institution of national importance and defined its objectives and functions. By virtue of this Act, the Institute awards their own medical degrees and other academic distinctions. The degrees awarded by the Institute under the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Act are recognized medical qualifications for the purpose of the Indian Medical Council Act and notwithstanding anything contained therein, are deemed to be included in the first schedule of that Act, entitling the holders to the same privileges as those attached to the equivalent awards from the recognized Universities of India.

The Exam will be of 3½ hours duration and will have one paper consisting of 200 objective type (multiple choice and reason- assertion type) questions from subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge.
The candidate should have attained or will attain the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on the 31st of December of the year of admission (2015).
The Candidate should have passed the 12th Class under the 10+2 Scheme/ Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE) or Intermediate Science (I.Sc.)Or should have an equivalent Examination of a recognized University/ Board of any Indian State with ENGLISH, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY and BIOLOGY as subject.
Candidates who have appeared or are appearing at the qualifying Examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subject and expect to pass the Examination with required percentage of marks are also eligible to apply and appear in the AIIMS Examination. They will have to provides with the mark sheet or passing certificate to apply for the examination
The minimum aggregate of the marks in ENGLISH, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY and BIOLOGY obtained in the qualifying examination as in the Essential Qualification required:
General and OBC candidates: 60 %
SC/ST/OPH Candidates: 50 %
