AIPMT (The All India Pre-Medical Test)
The All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) is an annual medical entrance examination in India. The exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in several medical colleges across the country.
At present, 15% of the total seats in all medical and dental colleges run by the Union of India, state governments, municipal or other local authorities in India, except in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir, are reserved for candidates who qualify this examination.
The cut off score of AIPMT is the minimum qualifying marks which must be secured by candidates to qualify the entrance test. The cut off score depends on factors such as availability of seats, number of applicants and difficulty level of the entrance examination.
AIPMT test formats
The AIPMT consists of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only
AIPMT eligibility criteria for candidates seeking admission to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses in the academic session. According to AIPMT eligibility criteria candidates must be 17 years of age and have secured qualifying marks in 10+2/HSC.
